Years ago, I was making a Southern favorite, Collard Greens. It called for "Paula Deen's House Seasoning." I quite enjoyed it, however, it was missing one of our staples, Onion Powder. I decided to continue with her percentages and add equal amounts Garlic Powder and Onion Powder. Since I first made my Paula Deen blend (plus onion powder), I see that it is now listed as an "optional" ingredient, but I use it every time. What I ended up with is a seasoning blend I use in just about every dish I make that doesn't use a pre-made marinade.
1/4 c Onion Powder
1/4 c Garlic Powder
1/4 c Black Pepper
1 c Salt
Put it in a jar, bowl, or whatever you want to store it and shake it up to mix.
This exact ratio mixes and stores well in a 1 pint mason jar. But you can always adjust the recipe to use whatever you want!
Totally spilled the salt on the counter and then took a picture, haha.
